Re: New Beginnings- 16th, Mid-Day (Rahne) « Result #4 on Sept 6, 2006, 11:54am »
Looking down, he saw Weapon V slow and then stop. She was waiting. Now he just had to decide what he was going to say. He lowered his feet unsteadily, trying to descend as quickly as his weary and shaken muscles would allow.
Just great, he thought to himself. She'll have fallen asleep by the time I get down there. As he recovered from the trauma of nearly falling, though, his confidence grew and his speed increased. A few feet from the ground, he simply pushed himself from the wall and fell. He landed on his feet, bent his knees to try and absorb some of the impact, and tried not to show how bad it stung his feet.
Delta cleared his throat as he stepped forward, quickly trying to gather his thoughts. "I, uh, I really appreciate what you just did for me," he said. He touched his nose, not really conscious that he was doing it, simply remembering the way her touch had felt there. "You really surprised me." He looked her straight in the eyes, now, through his visor. For a moment, he stood like Cyclops and not Weapon Delta.
"I want to apologize for the things I said the other day. I was angry at... other things. Myself included. And I allowed my words to go too far." It sounded pathetic, even to Scott, but he was feeling suddenly guilty for ever berating this woman. Though it was debatable if she had actually done him any favors, she had just saved his life.

Board Move « Result #5 on Sept 6, 2006, 10:24am »
Please bear with me.
I'm moving active threads (ie anything not in the Archives) IC, which is why I'm not giving you all passwords yet. As I move things, I am locking them here. This means you can't reply here or on the new board. Hopefully this will only take a couple of days. Please be patient with me. Once all active threads are moved ICly, I'll give you the passwords (which you might want to reset) and we can continue with posting on the new board.
Archived threads will be moved OOCly as I have time.

"Don't call me sir. I'm not some toff, I'm just a bloke," Pyro said, waving off her polite niceties with a flip of his hand. It meant nothing to him, and made him a little uncomfortable. People hid all sorts of things behind nice words. All polite and white like lab tiles. Colourless. No meaning.
"I'm Pyro, Miss Kitty Cat."
He stretched, before scratching at the side of his face where he could feel stubble against his fingers. Probably he should shave. Maybe. If they let him have a razor again.
Disreputable bum.

"Wait!" Scott shouted after Weapon V. "I want to talk to you!"
Rahne slowed to a stop, and turned around, surprised at the man's courage to command her to stop. A command? Her fangs twitched, and she felt the wolf prickle in anger. Not this time. Fighting this reaction, Rahne watched his descent and approach warily, wondering what on earth he wanted to 'talk' about.
A part of her was desperate for 'conversation'. Eager to use more words and listen.
Re: 9/17 Late Night - The Journey Across (ISO Rogu « Result #8 on Sept 5, 2006, 4:19pm »
"Y'... y'been safe, Sam?"
"Kinda. Well, safe as Ah can be, Ah guess."
To say it was strange to see Rogue like this was an understatement. Gone was the fire and brimstone and in it's place was left a meek kitten. A far cry from the rough and tumble pup that had spent hour after hour slamming him through holographic Danger Room walls. Or, as Sam recalled it, being slammed through walls by a dynamic young gent.
"Ah mean...Ah'm alive. An' you are too. Look like y'all took a different route t'get here than Ah did though."
The clothing, the mannerisms and the hesitant look in her eye spoke volumes. Sam was still new to the concept of Weapon X and although Sage's briefing had been short and to the point, it had given him enough pointers to know when to put two and two together. He wasn't going to ask the girl outright, nor was he even going to imply it, figuring that was the last thing she wanted. He would simply treat her normally, something that was apparently alien to those in charge of the Program.
So he chatted.
"Ah've been hidin'. In London. Figured if Ah'm out of sight they ain't gonna be comin' after me or my own. Means Momma, Josh, Jeb, Pai, the twins an' the others are all ok, y'know?"
He chuckled. "Thought Ah was pretty good at it too. That was until Robo-woman done hauled me on out an' dumped me in some boat!"
Still, he kept himself to himself, away from a woman he knew was protective of her personal space. Sam sat close enough to be heard over the engines, but far enough away so as not to crowd her. He leaned forward, resting his forearms on his thighs and interlocking his fingers.
"You...er...Y'still got the strength? An' flight?" And the silent question: The voices? For all the time they spent together, Sam's natural desire to help people was constantly frustrated with his inability to do anything for his friend. All he could do then, and possibly now was just sit back, watch and offer a shoulder to cry on when needed. "Ah still fly in a straight line. Never got the hang of corners. Then again, walls never really got the hang o'me."

Re: Problems, Problems « Result #9 on Sept 5, 2006, 4:07pm »
Okay.
We're going to IF. Much thanks to Cory for her work to get the board to rpgscene but it's not going to work the way we want.
I spent most of today getting the board at IF looking somewhat decent before I begin the process of moving.
I have closed registration at IF currently but have pre-registered accounts for you all with a common password. This is mostly for my own benefit for moving purposes.
As such, no logging in and continue to post here for the time being.

His blue was different.
Not like the water of the pool. Not like the ribbons she tied up into her hair.
His blue was layered with more than just varying shades of color. There was something else floating about in that blue that confused Kitty.
Something that looked almost familiar.
"People from different countries. Windies are from the West Indies, Packies are from Pakistan, Deshies are from Bangladesh and Poms are from England."
It was always the small things that could sometimes floor her. His answer had done just that. It almost hurt to think that she didn't know nearly as much as everyone else. All this extra information that she had no clue about, but it was common knowledge for others.
Was she the only one in the dark about everything else in the world?
"Poms are all bloody whingers, shiela. Take it from me."
More words that brought up more questions in her mind. It just made her feel even smaller.
Kitty hated it.
"I suppose I'll have to take it from you, sir." There was a laugh of uneasiness from her as tried to brush off the feelings of doubt that swam over her.
"My name is Kitty, sir."
Slide back into the routine. Slip back into what was most comfortable to her.
