Three hours at JFK, waiting for her flight to leave. Eight hours in flight. God, Lorna could have gotten there faster herself. Of course, she might have been spotted, flying herself and her luggage over the Atlantic, scrambling radar or not. She was far too happy when the cab pulled up in front of a rather ordinary looking warehouse building.
He didn't even offer her to help her with her luggage, just sped off leaving her standing on the curb. Wonderful. She loved England already. Worrying her lip slightly, Lorna loaded herself up, cheating a little by 'helping' with her powers. The all steel luggage set she'd bought was great for traveling and well, easier for her to lift. If there was nobody around, she wouldn't even fake struggling with it.
Dropping everything in one hand, she hit the buzzer and intercom, hoping whoever Tessa had left to mind the place was waiting for her. If Sage had bothered to telling them she was coming.
"Hey, anybody home?" she called.
Two buzzes and five minutes later, still no answer. Okay, something was definitely wrong. Glancing around, Lorna chewed her lip again, then concentrated, her eyes flaring slight with green energy as she concentrated on the lock and the security rig attached to it.
"Sorry Tess," she muttered. "I'll help you wire a new one." With another flash of green, the locks clicked open and the door opened, the alarm's electrical system blown. Knowing she had only a second or two before the backup system activated, Lorna used her powers to basically flung herself and her luggage into the foyer as she slammed the door behind her.
Identify yourself a computer voice chirped and Lorna could see red lights highlighting everywhere. Not certain she could blow the whole place, she let out a heavy sigh.
"Lorna Dane," she stated flatly, figuring not moving was probably smart. She felt it scan her whole body. Twice. It made her teeth ache. "Polaris."
Immediately, the lights came on and the targeting lasers disappeared. Welcome Polaris, the computer chirped.
"Thanks," she grumbled, getting to her feet, yanking off her disheveled wig and letting her emerald green hair tumble loosely about her shoulders. "Where's Sage?"
Sage is not on the premises, the computer informed her. Neither is Wisdom, Chamber or Husk. They have all departed on separate missions.
"Who the hell-?" Lorna began, then held up her hand. "Nevermind. I'll look it up myself. I'm sure Tess left me instructions somewhere. So which room is mine?"
Levitating her luggage behind her she followed the instructions the computer gave her. Luckily. The flat that had been assigned to her was on the first floor.
Shower, change of clothes, then she'd deal with whatever Sage needed for her here. Funny, her not being here. Must've been some emergency.
